I’m so glad you found my website. Let me be the one to help you see, feel, and hear the beauty, tranquility, elegance, and healing that comes from playing the harp. It can add wholeness, joy, and fun to your life.
During the COVID-19 pandemic I had to revamp the way I teach music lessons. Transitioning to online teaching from face to face teaching was scary and uncomfortable at first. I didn’t think the lessons would be as productive. I’m so happy to announce that they are. Online harp lessons are working! I love continuing to see my students each week and hear the progress they are making. This modification is exciting for another reason. Online lessons have helped me realise that I can extend my love for playing the harp to those outside of my community. Harp lessons can now reach everyone. Let me help you, wherever you are, learn to play the harp.
Hi, I’m Gayla from Arizona, and I love the peace and tranquility of the harp. I honestly can’t
remember a time in my life without a harp by my side.
It was there looming large when I plucked its strings for the first time during elementary school.
It was there for me to hide behind during my awkward middle school years.
It was there to help me stand out and be exceptional during high school.
It was there to pay for tuition as a music major during college.
It was there as I began teaching during my early married life.
It was there as I played for weddings, giving me respite in my child-rearing years.
It was there as I challenged myself by playing for a symphony during my 30s.
It was there to provide comfort and healing to my soul as I battled breast cancer in my 40s.
It was there for me to play as I shared my spiritual convictions with my religious community.
And it still remains by my side today during the ups and downs that life has to offer.
I have found so much joy and fulfillment playing my harp for the past 40 years. I would love to share that joy with you.
"Gayla has been our daughter’s harp teacher for almost 4 years and our daughter loves learning from her! Our daughter normally attends in person for the lesson, but we transitioned to lessons via video conference during COVID-19 and it has worked out great! Gayla has helped our daughter prepare for harp solos in school, church, and recitals, as well as her harp part in the school orchestra songs and harp duets. Gayla is kind, sweet, and is a light to everyone!"
"I found Gayla through her website, and what luck! She is a top notch harp teacher. As an adult learning an instrument for the very first time, she has shown me that playing music on the harp is a delight to the heart and a real gift. Although I am new to music, I can tell I have a gem of a teacher with Gayla. Her enthusiasm and joy for the harp encourages me, and her teaching style is gentle and personalized. Gayla is a lovely person too, and I look forward to many more lessons to come. I wish all my friends played harp, so I could send them to Gayla for lessons!"
"Gayla is one of those few teachers who somehow is able to connect with the student online just as she could in person. My daughter’s skill level as a harpist has continued to grow with her remote harp lessons and I’m happy that she still loves her lessons and practicing!"
